🎙️ Press Release: New Single by Sandra Lourenço “You’ll Never Know” – a soulful tribute to eternal love
FOR RELEASE ON MAY 23rd 2025
May 2025 | Setúbal, Portugal
Following the deeply moving release of her debut single Time Stood Still, Portuguese singer-songwriter and visual artist Sandra Lourenço returns with a heartfelt new offering: You’ll Never Know. Delicate, ethereal, and emotionally raw, this new single is a loving homage to her beloved dog Vegeta, who passed away during the recording of the song after 17 years by Sandra’s side.
A tapestry of memory and emotion, “You’ll Never Know” merges Sandra’s haunting vocals with organic textures and intimate instrumentation. The song is a sonic elegy—a gentle yet powerful expression of loss, love, and transcendence. Vegeta’s bark, recorded in real life, becomes part of the videoclip, subtly echoing through the music like a spirit in the wind.
“I didn’t write this song for her initially—but when I was recording it I realized I was doing it with her,” Sandra shares. “It’s like she was singing the song for me. All she ever wanted was my love. Vegeta has always been more than a pet—she was my anchor, my mirror, and a guardian of my soul. This song carries her essence, and I know she helped guide it from the other side.”

🎧 About the Song
“You’ll Never Know” is the second single by Portuguese singer-songwriter and visual artist Sandra Lourenço—a deeply emotional tribute to her beloved dog, Vegeta, who passed away while the song was being recorded.
Vegeta’s presence became part of the music itself: her real bark, image and videos are used in the videoclip. Sandra didn’t write about her—but she felt she was singing as her.
The song flows with tender vocals, ambient textures, and intimate instrumentation, expressing the silent grief and unspoken love that words cannot hold. It’s a sonic offering to all those who have loved and lost—and still carry that love as light.

🎨 About the Artwork
Sandra hand-painted the cover art for “You’ll Never Know,” infusing it with emotional depth and personal meaning. Most poignantly, she incorporated strands of Vegeta’s fur into the painting, making the artwork a sacred vessel of memory and presence.
The image evokes themes of soul connection, afterlife, and transformation, mirroring the energy of the music itself.

🎬 About the Video
The official music video is a heart-expanding tribute, composed of 17 years of video and photo memories of Sandra and Vegeta. From playful moments to quiet companionship, the footage captures the essence of a soul bond that defies time and space.
Sandra edited the video herself, carefully crafting it as a visual sanctuary where viewers can feel the timeless love between human and animal—and perhaps reflect on their own.

Previous Mentions

“It is perhaps for me, the most beautiful artistic surprise, in this pandemic maras, which deprived us of concerts for more than a year. In 45 years of music journalism, I had never met an instrumentally self-taught young woman, as SANDRA BULLET. A bit in the tracks of Paul McCartney, in his post-Beatles era. Born in Setúbal but established in Coimbra, she’s a Portuguese alternative rock singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist with an indie twist and an old school sound.” – José Oliveira
“Overall, this was a really fun album to listen to. I had never heard of Sandra before and I feel I have been missing out. Her sound has me really nostalgic for 90’s and early 00’s music but made in a way I can relate to in 2021. I also think it’s important to note how the industry tries to age women really fast and even though she’s still young she’s breaking that “norm.” She emphasizes the fact that it’s never too late to go after your dreams. This is a great way to look at life and really drew me to her as an artist. I am so excited to see where her career goes from here.” – Sydney Blasi
